Obituary for Beth Ann Roberts (Caldwell)

Well God, you’ve got your hands full now. Both of the Caldwell girls are together again. Beth Ann (Caldwell) Roberts passed Wednesday, April 11, 2018 after her long journey of battling cancer. She never gave up hope and always had a fight in her, regardless of the procedure and outcome. Some would say she had a more stubborn spirit than most and that nothing would ever diminish her attitude. Beth was born February 26, 1950 in Leavenworth, KS to Bill and Jackie Caldwell. She graduated from West Platte High School in 1968, and went on to work several different positions with the Federal Government at Ft. Leavenworth and in Louisville, KY from 1968 to her retirement in 1995. After that career, she went on to her second career with Pampered Chef from 1995 to 2015. She so enjoyed this endeavor and many of you had the chance to work with her and follow her passion of cooking. She would always look forward to a show or new products or just a chance to meet new people. As many of you knew, she had another passion deep in her heart, and that was her “fur babies”. They would always take precedence over many of her daily duties, from Mildred, Banji, Ralph, Lady, Dutchess, Bell and Harley to her little buddies Jake and Sissy and Bud the cat. She enjoyed daily life as well as looking forward to future plans. She was happy just sitting around the house with her dogs on her lap, preparing a meal, or going out for the night. She and the rest of family and friends would always look forward to a nice and quiet and peaceful card game or poker night at the Caldwell house. She is preceded in death by her parents; sister Linda “Sis” Jarred; and grandparents Gert & Bill Caldwell and Alice & Frank Dysart. Beth leaves a son, Steve McCracken (Robyn) of Las Vegas; a brother Jim Caldwell (Connie) of Farley; and of course Jake and Sissy. She also leaves a granddaughter, Brynn McCracken; nephews Brent Schmollinger of Kansas City, Brian Caldwell (Susan) of Platte City, and niece Abby and nephew Hayden; as well as her extended family including step-daughters AnneMarie Collson of St. Helen, OR, Kristi Tasker (Mark) of Sherwood, OR; and step-grandchildren Chelsea, Andrew, Sydney, Carson and cousins. A memorial visitation will be held Saturday, April 21, 2018 from 3-5 pm at Vaughn Funeral Home in Weston, MO. Inurnment will take place at a later date in Graceland Cemetery in Weston. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made to the Kansas City Pet Project. https://donate.kcpetproject.org/fundraiser/1401952
