Ashley Nicole Allen, 18, passed away Monday, September 14, 2015, at North Kansas City Hospital, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. A visitation will be held 6:00 – 7:30 p.m., Friday, September 18, at Rollins Funeral Home in Platte City, MO. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Saturday, September 19, at the funeral home. The family suggests contributions be given to the charity of one’s choice. Ashley was born February 12, 1997 in Charleston, SC to John Lawrence and Angela Dawn (Cox) Allen. She lived in Charleston SC, Seattle WA, and Cherry Hill NJ, before moving to Platte City, where she lived for the last 6 years. Ashley was a 2015 graduate of the Platte County R-III High School in Platte City. She was currently attending Maple Woods Community College in Kansas City, MO. Ashley was an avid reader, enjoyed antiquing, photography and enjoyed writing. Her favorite pastime was spending time with her family and friends, and listening to music. She was preceded in death by her grandfather James W. Allen. Ashley is survived by: her mother Angela (Philip) Moss of Platte City; her father John (Dasmonda) Allen of Alamogordo, NM, her brothers Coty Allen of Platte City, Justin Allen, Zakk Beaton, and Mark Allen, all of Alamogordo, NM; her sister Bailey Moss of Bossier City, LA; paternal grandparents Dianne (Fred) Poe of Antioch, TN; maternal grandmother Darlene Weatherford of Platte City; maternal grandfather John Cox of Jamestown, TN; grandparents Howard and Sierra Bragdon of Nashville, TN; grandmother Joy Moss of Bossier, LA; her aunts & uncles Kathryn (Scott) Kelso of Murfreesboro, TN, and Kristi (George) Phelps of Mt. Juliet, TN; her aunt Wendy Cox of Platte City; and her uncle Robbie Moss of China Grove, NC. Ashley loved to help others, and was extremely giving of herself.
