EVA HENDERSON AMOS
Eva Henderson Amos passed into eternal life on April 23, 2016, in Raytown, Missouri. Eva was born January 1, 1929, to Walter Pleasant Wade and Hazel Grisham Wade of Platte City, Missouri. In July 1951, Eva married John W. Henderson of Abilene, Kansas, and moved to Wichita, Kansas, where she lived for the next 45 years, where her main focus was that of homemaker. Eva worked as an active volunteer for the Catholic Church in Wichita, as well as, the Wichita Symphony. She also served on the Boards of Kansas Newman College and the American National Bank. In 1993, she moved back to Platte City, and married Billie Lee Amos who preceded her in death on November 6, 2003. Eva is survived by her three children who were the joy of her life. One daughter, Barbara Steele and husband, Jim. Two sons, Michael Henderson and wife, Kristy, and Patrick Henderson and wife, Carolina. Two grandchildren, Laurel (Steele) Cieciorka and husband, Tyler, and John Steele, who both lovingly called her Grandma Eva. And one great-grandchild, Cash James Cieciorka, who was born on Good Friday, March 25, 2016. Eva had five siblings, three of whom have preceded her in death, Vernon (Bus) Wade, Albert Wade and Velma Smith. The only two remaining siblings are Dorothy Christensen, and husband Pete, and Daniel Pleasant Wade. And a plethora of cousins, nieces and nephews, plus four grand-dogs, Roxie, Gracie, Thunder and Jake. A visitation will be held 10 – 11 a.m., Saturday, April 30; followed by an 11:00 a.m. funeral mass at XII Apostles Catholic Church in Platte City, MO.
