Obituary for Judy B. Carney

Judy B. Carney, 96, passed away Tuesday, June 21, 2016 at Tiffany Heights in Mound City, MO. A visitation will be held 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 25, at the Vaughn Funeral Home in Weston, MO; followed by an 11:00 a.m. funeral service, at the funeral home. Interment will follow in the Pleasant Ridge Cemetery in Weston. The family suggests contributions be given to the American Cancer Society. Judy was born November 21, 1919 in Platte County, MO to Elijah Lewis and Anna Baldwin (Tudor) Faulkner. She was a lifelong resident of the Weston area, until moving to Mound City for the past 3 years. She married Ivan Reece “Buck” Carney on January 4, 1941 in Platte City, MO. She farmed for the better part of her life, and also worked for Vaughn Orchard, and Vaughn Funeral Home of Weston, for many years. Judy was a member of the New Market Christian Church, the Swamp Community Club, and the Sew-and-Sew Club. She loved to fish at the family cabin on Big Lake, MO. Judy also loved to cook for her family and friends, and was well known for her egg noodles. She loved her family, and always made herself available to help her daughters around the house. She was preceded in death by: her parents; her husband Ivan “Buck”; a daughter Judy Amos; a brother Elmer Faulkner; and 2 sisters Lorene Pulam and Thelma Harrington. Judy is survived by: 2 daughters Kaye (John) Johnson of Camden Point, MO, and Iva (Terry) Tubbs of Craig, MO; 1 brother Bill Faulkner of Kearney; 9 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; and 15 great, great grandchildren
