Obituary for Arlie R. Fagan

Arlie R. Fagan, 59, of Parkville, MO passed away Thursday, April 11, 2013 at St. Luke’s Northland Hospital in Kansas City, MO. A visitation will be held 1:00 – 2:00 p.m., Sunday, April 14, 2013 at Rollins Funeral Home in Platte City, MO; followed by a 2:00 p.m. funeral service at the funeral home. Cremation will follow. The family suggests contributions be given to the American Cancer Society, or the Susan Komen Breast Cancer Foundation “Race for the Cure”. Arlie was born February 22, 1954 in Trenton, MO to Ralph Marcellus and Ruth Susan (Fletcher) Fagan. He was a 1972 graduate of the Mountain Grove High School, later living in south Texas, and in Parkville since 1983. Arlie was a member of the Harmony Free Will Baptist Church of Parkville. He married Betty Louise Smith on December 28, 1984 in Platte City. Arlie worked as a mason for the MTS Contracting. He was an outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, traveling, and cooking. Arlie was an avid collector of outboard motors, and was a member of the Antique Outboard Motor Club Inc. He had many interests in life, and excelled in a variety of endeavors. Arlie was preceded in death by his parents, and 4 brothers Joe, James, Fred, and George Fagan. He is survived by: his wife Betty of the home; his sons Randy Dearing of Maysville, MO, Perry (Sara) Webster of K.C., MO, and Christopher (Lisa) Fagan of K.C., MO; his daughters Jennifer (Brian) Garvey of Platte City, Julie Chronister of K.C., MO, and Michelle (Rene) Sanchez of El Paso, TX; his brothers Jackie (Marsha) Fagan of Cameron, MO, Jerry (Sug) Fagan of Oak Grove, MO, Thomas (Kap) Fagan of K.C., MO, Richard (Patty) Fagan of Brookfield, MD, Carl (Bessie) Fagan of Clarksville, AR, Donald (Joann) Fagan of Ontario, CA, Ronald (Ann) Fagan of Parkville, MO, and Charlie (Stephenie) Fagan of Northmoor, MO; 22 grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and many friends and cousins.
