Charlotte Marie Hendrix, 88, passed away Friday, August 11, 2017 at her home in Platte City, MO. Charlotte was born November 17, 1928 in Leavenworth, Kansas to Andrew and Beaulah Camp. She grew up in Lansing, Kansas and married Harold Willis Hendrix on October 21, 1955. They lived in various places while Harold was in the military, and settled in Platte City in 1963. Charlotte very much enjoyed cookbooks and playing volleyball with her friends from the Y in Platte City. She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star for over 50 years and was a mother to many local military families. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter Donna Knox, and 10 siblings. Charlotte is survived by: daughter Becky (Denny) Dye of Platte City; granddaughters Deni Marie Gardner and great-granddaughter Olivia, Donnette Stokes and great-grandson Danny, Stephanie (Cameron) Harvey and great-grandchildren Mitchell and Natalie, and Amber Humes; brother Russell (Margie) Camp of Easton, Kansas; and many special nieces and nephews. A Graveside Service will be held Sunday, August 13, 2017 at 4 pm at the Hampton Cemetery in Platte City. Funeral procession will leave from the funeral home at 3:30 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be given to the Platte City Y or North Care Hospice.
