Condolences

Condolence From: Karen Hanson of Platte City, Mo
Condolence: I played volleyball at the YMCA with John. I had the most wonderful conversation with him not long after he was first diagnosed with his sickness. He said that much earlier in his life he was in a situation where he was laying on his back in the hospital asking God just for the opportunity to raise his kids. Apparently God changed his circumstances drastically and gave him the opportunity to do that. John was tearful that day for two reasons one was his current situation but more so he had tears of gratitude that God had given him a chance to have a family and raise them. To play with his kids and be functional in every way. He said to me that in light of it all he can't complain too much. I'll never forget that conversation we both encouraged each other that day and gain some strength from within for the rest of the journey. My heart is heavy at the loss of John. But he assured me that he knew where he was going because of his relationship with Christ. I will so miss him and remember him every time we play volleyball at the Y.
