Norma Lee Stephen, 89, formerly of Weston, MO passed away Wednesday, January 18, 2017 at the Breezy Meadows Nursing Home in Butler, MO. Norma was born November 14, 1927 in Kansas City, MO to Alonzo C. and Lola I. (Hillyer) Stogsdill. Norma married James Edward Stephen on April 28, 1945 in Kansas City, KS. She was employed by International Harvester in Kansas City, KS for over 30 years. Her husband Jim was owner/operator of the St. George’s Antiques in downtown Weston, for over 30 years, where he and Norma settled in their antebellum home at 616 Main Street, which will always be historically registered as the Stephen’s home. They became enthusiastic supporters of the community, and, Norma showed this support as a member of the Weston Historical Society, the Weston Historical Museum, and the local bridge club. She also loved flower gardening, and was a member of the local Weston Garden Club. She was preceded in death by; her parents; her husband Jim; 2 brothers LeRoy M. Potter, and Hershall Potter; 3 sisters Marie Luckey, Mildred Fish, and Irene Ewing. Norma is survived by: her niece Patsy (Donald) Stine; and her nephews John (Corkey) Potter, Robert (Judy) Potter, Lonnie Potter, Chuck Potter, and Robert Potter. A graveside service will be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 21, at the Laurel Hill Cemetery in Weston. Memorial contributions can be made to the charity of one’s choice.
