Robert L. Trussell, aged 83, died peacefully Saturday, Jan. 7, 2017 at his home in the loving company of his wife and family. Robert was born August 19, 1933 in Sugar Creek MO to Donald and Racheal (Flippin) Trussell. After graduating from high school, Robert served his country as a member of the U.S. Army, during the Korean Conflict. He married Joan Snuffer on January 16, 1993. Robert retired from Trans World Airlines, where he worked for many years as a mechanic. One of his favorite pastimes was going to Las Vegas. He was preceded in death by: his parents; 2 daughters Debra and Becky Trussell; 2 brothers; and 1 sister. Robert is survived by: his wife Joan of the home; his sons Robert M. (Kathy) Trussell, and David (Sandra) Trussell all of Independence, MO; his stepsons Bill Cooper of K.C., MO and Mike (Linda) Cooper of Raytown; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. A visitation will be held 10:00 – 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, January 11, 2017 at Vaughn Funeral Home in Weston, MO; followed by an 11:00 a.m. funeral service. Interment, with military honors will follow at the Mount Bethel Cemetery in Weston. Memorial contributions can be made to the charity of one’s choice.
