BRIAN MATTHEW WEST
Brian Matthew West, 42, of Weston, MO, passed away at his home in Weston, Tuesday May 3, 2016 after a 1 ½ year battle with heart failure. Brian was born November 1, 1973 in Kansas City, MO to Chris and Marsha West. He was a lifelong resident of Weston, and a member of the United Methodist Church of Weston. Brian spent his working life as a sales representative in the construction industry. As a youth, Brian was a member of Boy Scout Troop 249 of Weston, and earned the rank of Eagle Scout. He was also involved in the Tribe of Mic-O-Say at the H. Roe Bartle Scout Reservation, earning the level of Runner. Brian continued his involvement with scouting throughout his life, serving as Assistant Scoutmaster for Troop 249; and was especially active the last few years. He was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents. Brian is survived by: his parents, Chris and Marsha West of Weston; his brother Dan West, and his wife Danielle of Platte City, MO; his niece and nephew Chloe and Colby West of Platte City; and numerous extended family and friends. A visitation will be held 6:00 – 7:30 p.m., Friday, May 6, 2016, at Vaughn Funeral Home in Weston, with a Mic-O-Say Memorial at 7:00 p.m.. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Saturday, May 7, at the funeral home; followed by interment in the Laurel Hill Cemetery in Weston.
