Obituary for Eric John Wolters

Eric John Wolters, 61, of Bonner Springs, KS, passed away Wednesday, March 7, 2018 at the NorthCare Hospice House in North K.C., MO. Eric was born September 16, 1956 in K.C., KS to Bernard John and Helen Marie (Gieber) Wolters. He served his country as a member of the U.S. Marine Corps, where he worked as a radio telecommunications officer and field radio operator, earning the rifle marksman and sharpshooter pistol badges, and a good conduct medal. Eric was of the Catholic faith, and was a member of the American Legion of K.C., KS, and the Disabled American Veterans. He was a talented artist who loved to draw and enjoyed playing bingo. He was preceded in death by his parents. Eric is survived by: his siblings Janis (Tony) Colbert of Parkville, MO, Gretchen (Danko) Pavlovic of K.C., KS, Mark (Yola) Wolters of Platte City, Kurt (Dawn) Wolters of Idaho, Patricia (Don) Hawkins of Tracy, MO, Ronald (Kathleen) Wolters of Shawnee, KS; his daughter Catherine Shull of Independence, MO; and many nieces and nephews. A visitation will be held 5 – 7 p.m., Monday, March 12, 2018 at Rollins Funeral Home in Platte City. A graveside funeral service with military honors will be held 9:00 a.m., Tuesday, March 13 at the Leavenworth National Cemetery—150 Muncie Rd.—Leavenworth, KS. Contributions can be given to Rollins Funeral Home in Eric’s memory, to help with funeral expenses.
