Georgia was born to Tracy and Ruby (Coons) Jones in Platte County on February 12, 1918. She graduated from Dearborn High School in 1935 and she continued her education at a business school in downtown Kansas City, before marrying Forrest Cassity, in a double ceremony with her brother Eugene Jones and his wife, Hilda Foster Jones on August 5, 1939. She lived in the Dearborn area all her life except during WWII, when she followed Frosty to Camp Polk, LA, until he was shipped to the European Front in 1944. She returned to Dearborn and made a home for Frosty to return to. To their union two children were born: Robert George Cassity (1947), and Jane Ann Cassity Hagg (1948). Georgia joined Frosty in working the family farm, and running his school bus business; and was still in partnership of Cassity Bus Company with her son, Robert, when she died. Georgia was a devoted member of the Dearborn Christian Church; and was a homemaker, whose life revolved around her family. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Frank Forrest “Frosty” Cassity; three brothers Bill, Eugene, and J.R. Jones; and a grandson James George Cassity. Georgia is survived by her son Robert (Lynn) Cassity of Dearborn; her daughter Jane (Jerry) Hagg of Dearborn; three grandsons, Joe (Melissa) Hagg, John Hagg, and Jeff Cassity (Jennifer) and Jim’s wife, Kristan; and eight great grandchildren.
