James G. Row, 74, of Platte City, MO, passed away Thursday, March 9, 2017 at his home. James was born October 30, 1942 in Pittsburg, KS to James and Margaret (Ryan) Row. He went to St. Mary’s School in Pittsburg from kindergarten through high school. He then obtained a business degree from Pittsburgh State University, graduating in 1964. James married Susan Mollette Keller in Hugo, OK on July 2, 1971. James enjoyed his work in insurance claims for Home Insurance Company in Overland Park, KS and later retiring from United Fire Casualty in Cedar Rapids, IA in January, 2013. James was of the Catholic faith, and was a past member of the American Legion. He loved his family and enjoyed spending time on Orange Beach in Alabama. James is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Susan, of the home; daughters Meghan (Jeff) Wheeler of Parkville, MO and Stephanie Hazlett of Fort Collins, CO; grandchildren Ashley and Meredith Wheeler, and Gillian, Kalen, and Tripton Hazlett; brothers Michael (Joyce) Row and Mark (Zetta Varns) Row of Pittsburg, KS; and many nieces and nephews. A visitation will be held 1:00 – 2:00 p.m., Saturday, March 11, 2017 at Rollins Funeral Home; followed by a funeral service with military honors at 2 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Luke’s Hospice.
