RAYMOND “RAY” HALE SEDLOCK, JR.
Raymond “Ray” Hale Sedlock, Jr., 58, passed away Saturday, August 11, 2018 at his home in Platte City, MO. Ray was born August 2, 1960 in Kansas City, MO to Raymond Hale Sedlock, Sr. and Carolyn Regina (Oelklaus) Sedlock. He was a 1978 graduate of Shawnee Mission East High School, where he received the Principal’s Award. Ray graduated from the University of Kansas with a Business Administration degree; and was an avid Jayhawk’s fan. Ray married Kayren “Kamille” Kisker on June 30, 1990 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Farley, MO; where he received his confirmation in February 1991. As an experienced repairman and home builder, he continued to take an active role in the church as a Trustee and oversaw updates to the sanctuary which included: stripping and staining wood trim and pews, and interior painting and installing light fixtures. Ray worked as an Assistant Division Manager for Cranemasters in Riverside, MO, a company who responded to train derailments, a perfect fit to his lifelong love for trains. He also worked as a Real Estate Broker/Salesperson for several years and was Broker/Co-Owner of Century 21 Five Star; becoming a 5 Million Dollar Club recipient. He was a former member of the National Association of Realtors, member of KCRAR, and former member of Ducks Unlimited, receiving the Conservation Service Award and Distinguished Service Award. He also received several Certificates of Appreciation from the Weston Jaycees. Ray was an avid sports enthusiast, who loved baseball, playing golf, boating & water skiing. He was preceded in death by his parents. Ray is survived by: his wife Kamille, of the home; his sisters, Teresa (Steve) Bertone of Olathe, KS, and Patricia Willert of Wichita, KS; his nephews Vincent Bertone, Trenton Willert and Kole Kisker; his nieces Abbi Willert, Madison Willert and Kayla Kisker; his uncles, aunts, and many cousins. Following cremation, a memorial service will be held 10:30 a.m., Saturday, August 18, 2018 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Farley, MO. Inurnment will follow at the Platte City Cemetery. The family plans a Celebration of Ray’s Life to be held at Weston Burley House 357 Main St Weston, on September 15, 2018. Memorial contributions may be given to St. John’s Lutheran Church.
