Obituary for Walter C. "Jack" Edlin

Walter “Jack” C. Edlin, 85, passed away Friday, January 3, 2014 at his home in Kansas City, MO. A visitation will be 6:30 – 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 7, 2014 at Rollins Funeral Home in Platte City, MO. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, January 8, at the funeral home. Interment, with military honors, will follow at the Platte City Cemetery. The family suggests contributions be given to the American Diabetes Association. Jack was born May 20, 1928 in Platte County, MO to Joseph William and Flossie Lee (Snow) Edlin. He served his country during World War II in the U.S. Navy. Jack spent his working life as an electrician for K.C.P. & L. and PAR Electric. He was of the Christian Faith, and worshipped the time he spent with his grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Jack was an avid golfer, and also enjoyed bowling, hunting, and playing bingo. He was preceded in death by his parents; and 2 brothers, William “Bill” and Aaron “Pete” Edlin. Jack is survived by: his wife Gaynell, of the home; 2 daughters Sheree Sanstra of K.C., MO, and Pam (Mike) Walser of Cameron, MO; brother Charlie (Nellie) Edlin of K.C., MO; sister Shirley Spencer of Jefferson City, MO; 4 grandchildren Chris Best, Mike (Amy) Best, Jason Everett, and Whitney Walser; and 3 great grandchildren T.J., Parker and Hope Best.
