Nellie Jane (Stout) Green, 89, passed away Monday, December 5, 2016 at the Golden Living Center in Lansing, KS. Nellie was born August 1, 1927 in Salina, KS to Fred and Grace Stout. She was a graduate of the LaSalle High School in Chicago, IL. Nellie married Howard William Green in St. Joseph, MO in 1945. She spent her working life as an assembly worker for Geeko Lighting Co. and Whitaker Cable in St. Joseph, MO. In addition to living in Chicago and St. Joseph, Nellie also lived in Dekalb and Weston, MO. She was of the Catholic Faith, and was a member of the Holy Trinity Catholic Church of Weston. Her favorite pastime was spending weekends with her grandchildren. Nellie was preceded in death by: her parents; her husband; and several brothers and sisters. She is survived by: her daughter Carol Ann (Roger) Glass of Weston; her grandchildren Kim (Jim) Murphy of Lansing, KS, Kelly Young of Weston, and Karla (Gary) Guy of Weston; her great grandchildren Matthew Sydow, Courtney Young, Dustin Guy, Bailey Young, and Alyssa Guy; and great, great grandchildren Jared Sydow, and Ruby Sydow. Following cremation, a private family graveside service will take place at the Leavenworth National Cemetery in Leavenworth, KS. The family suggests contributions be given to the American Diabetes Association.
