EMMA L. LEWIS
Emma L. Lewis, 50, passed away in Platte City, MO on June 9, 2016. Following cremation, a memorial service will be held: 6:30 p.m., Tuesday, June 14, 2016 at The Rock of Kansas City Church. Memorial contributions can be given to the church in Emma’s memory. Emma was born October 3, 1965 in Bakersfield, CA to Abel Pena and Lidia (Ramirez) Rodriguez. She grew up in Bonita Springs and Naples, FL, and in later life, lived in Weston, MO, before moving to Platte City a couple of years ago. Emma married David L. Lewis on October 9, 2009 in Weston, and enjoyed being a homemaker, known for her excellent cooking, and her love for her children, grandchildren and their dog Chance. She was a member of The Rock of K.C. Church, where she taught children’s ministries. Emma also did volunteer work for Hillcrest Thrift Store and Hillview Nursing & Rehabilitation Center of Platte City. She enjoyed running and fishing, providing daycare for children, and loved antiques, especially collecting tea cups. Emma was preceded in death by her mother. She is survived by: her father Abel Rodriguez of Bonita Springs, FL; her husband David of the home; her son Kasey Ingelse of Kansas City, MO; her daughter Antonia Ingelse of the home; 2 step sons Denton Lewis and his fiancé Jessica, and Taylor Lewis, and wife Tiffany, all of Olathe, KS; 5 brothers Raymond (Audrey) Rodriguez of Bonita Springs, FL, Abel Rodriguez Jr. of Leavenworth, KS, Mario (Terri) Rodriguez of Ft. Myers, FL, Isaac Rodriguez of Bonita Springs, and Jesus (Liliana) Rodriguez of Vacaville, CA; 2 sisters Elena Arizmendi and Molly (Marco) Morello, all of Naples; and 4 grandchildren Ava, Brinlee, Cendry, and Kenzie Lewis.
