Obituary for Louise O'Neill

Edith Louise O’Neill, 89, passed away Friday, October 17, 2014 at her home near New Market, MO. Louise was born August 7, 1925 in Courtney, MO to Benjamin Franklin and Minnie (Stewart) Mann. The last of 11 siblings, Louise graduated from William Christian High School in Independence, MO. Louise grew up in Courtney, MO where she met and later married her childhood sweetheart Owen O’Neill. They moved to Iatan, MO in 1945, to begin farming and raising livestock. In 1965, they made a final move to a large farm near New Market, MO. She and Owen were married 66 years. They enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating, and just being in the outdoors. Louise especially enjoyed her gardening and flowers. She was preceded in death by her husband Owen; her youngest son Jim; and her daughter in law Mary Yeaman O’Neill. She is survived by her son Robert and daughter in law Cecilia Schuele O’Neill. She leaves 5 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and 3 great, great grandchildren. She has many nieces, nephews and cousins spread throughout the country. Louise very much enjoyed time spent with her family throughout her life. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. A visitation will be held 5:00 – 6:30 p.m., Thursday, October 23, at Vaughn Funeral Home in Weston. A memorial mass will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, October 24, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church of Weston. A private family inurnment of the cremains will take place at the Woodlawn Cemetery in Independence, MO, at a later date. Anyone who wishes may make a donation in her memory to the church she loved, Holy Trinity Catholic Church of Weston.
