Obituary for Virginia A. Owen

Virginia A. Owen, 80, of Dearborn, MO passed away Saturday, April 11, 2015, at her daughter’s home in Smithville, MO. Virginia was born February 23, 1935 in Stoutland, MO to Robert Earl and Golda Ann (Webster) Hogue. She was raised in the Camdenton, MO area, where she was a graduate of the Camdenton High School. Virginia married Franklin Dean Owen on July 26, 1957 in Boone County, AR. They lived in the Kansas City, Missouri area until moving to Dearborn in 1972. Virginia was a homemaker and member of the Baptist faith. She enjoyed gardening, ceramics, and beading; and loved camping and fishing in her earlier years. She was preceded in death by: her parents; her husband; and a grandson Michael Owen. Virginia is survived by: 1 son Franklin Steven Owen of Lincoln, NE; 1 daughter Cheryl (Mike) Wells of Smithville, MO; 2 brothers Richard (Judy) Hogue of Hartville, MO and Donald (Shirley) Hogue of Lee’s Summit, MO; 3 grandchildren; and 2 great grandchildren. Following cremation, a private graveside service will be held at a later date. The family suggests contributions be given to The American Cancer Society.
