Obituary for Roger Franklin Noland

Roger Franklin Noland, 73, passed away Sunday, February 19, 2017 at his home in Leavenworth, KS. Roger was born August 28, 1943 in St. Joseph, MO to William Franklin “Lee” Noland and Rachael Mae (Ellis) Noland. He was a 1962 graduate of the Weston High School, Weston, MO, a lifelong resident of the Weston and Leavenworth areas, and a member of the First Baptist Church of Weston. Roger married Linda Lee Norris on September 5, 1964 at the Pleasant Ridge Church in Weston. He worked as a paint engineer initially at Cook Paint for 13 years, and then at Tnemec, both in North Kansas City, MO, for an additional 30 years. Roger loved travelling across the country, spending time with his family, and working on cars. He also was an avid Kansas City sports fan, and regularly attended Cline’s Opry in Weston every Sunday. He was preceded in death by: his parents; his siblings Donald L. Noland, Lavada Noland, Betty Dearinger, Joann Fields, Billy Lee Noland, Charles R. Noland, Kenny L. Noland, Jack D. Noland, and Richard W. Noland; and his son Steven Lee Noland. Roger is survived by: his wife Linda, of the home; his daughter Brenda of Lansing, KS; his grandson Jonathan Zappa; his brother Ray L. Noland of Carrollton, GA; his sister Carrol Jean Noland of Long Beach, CA; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. A visitation will be held 5:00 – 7:00 p.m., Thursday, February 23, 2017 at Vaughn Funeral Home in Weston. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, February 24, at the funeral home. Cremation will follow with inurnment at Graceland Cemetery at a later date. Memorial contributions can be given to Hospice Partners or First Baptist Church of Weston.
