Obituary for Jimmy Lee Paden

Jimmy Lee Paden, 77, passed away Tuesday, September 20, 2016 at his home in Dearborn, MO. A visitation will be held 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., Friday, September 23 at the New Market Christian Church, New Market, MO. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, September 24, at the church. Interment with military honors will follow at the New Market Cemetery. The family suggests contributions be given to the North Platte Scholarship Foundation. Jim was born January 8, 1939 in New Market to James Wesley and Lucy Virginia (Wilson) Paden. He was a lifelong resident of the New Market/ Dearborn area, and member of the New Market Christian Church, where he served as Elder, and Trustee. Jim was a graduate of the Missouri Western State College, St. Joseph, MO; and a graduate of MEMT School. Jim married Esther Marie Brandon on December 21, 1961 in Dearborn. He worked for Anchor Serum in St. Joseph, before becoming one of the first 10 licensed paramedics in the State of Missouri, working in the St. Joseph area. Jim was a retired Lieutenant Colonel from MOANG where he worked for 35 years on MedFlights and in supply; formerly serving his country in the U.S. Airforce during the Vietnam Conflict and Desert Storm. After retiring from the military, Jim began farming in the Dearborn area. He served as past president for the Dearborn Area Fire Protection District and served for 30 years on the North Platte School Board, and Scholarship Foundation. Jim’s greatest passion was spending time with his kids, and grandkids on the family farm. He was preceded in death by his parents. Jim is survived by: his wife Esther of the home; his son Darren Lee of Dearborn; his daughter Michele Rene Paden of Dearborn; his brother Loren Ray (Anna) Paden of Dearborn; 2 sisters Sheila (Steve) Goodlet of Dearborn, and Patti Paden of Jacksonville, FL; 8 grandchildren James (Janessa), Anthony (Jennifer), Courtney (Colton), Olivia, Shelby, Emily, Chloe, and Jessie; and 6 great grandchildren.
