Yvonne “Vonnie” Pepper, 77, passed away Thursday, August 4, 2016 at the Riverside Nursing & Rehabilitation Center of Riverside, MO. Following cremation, a visitation will be held 10:30 – 11:00 a.m., Monday, August 8, 2016 at the Weston Christian Church; followed by an 11:00 a.m. memorial service, at the church. A private family inurnment of the cremains will take place at the Pleasant Ridge Cemetery in Weston, at a later date. The family suggests in lieu of flowers contributions be given to: Alzheimer’s Association, or to the Weston Christian Church Memorial Fund. Vonnie was born May 31, 1939 in Weston, MO to Owens Estill and Kathleen Irene (Brown) Carter. She was a lifelong resident of Weston, and a 1957 graduate of the West Platte High School. Vonnie was a member and devoted supporter of the Weston Christian Church. She was co-owner and operator of the Weston Country Store and loved spending time with her kids, grandkids, nieces, nephews, and other family. Also, Vonnie enjoyed caring for her flower gardens, and was known as a fantastic cook and host for the many special occasion dinners she would provide for her family and public servant friends. Vonnie was preceded in death by her parents, and a son Robbie Jordan. She is survived by: her husband Donald E. Pepper of Weston; a son Rick Jordan of Easton, KS; 2 stepsons Warren of Peoria, IL, and John Pepper of Weston; 4 daughters Lynn Johnson of Weston, Dee Dee Jordan of Platte City, MO, Charla Searcy of K.C., MO, and Brooke Roy of Smithville, MO; a step daughter Brenda Tippie of Pleasant Hill, MO; 3 brothers Owens Lee of Carlisle, KY, Phil of Overland Park, KS, and Greg Carter of Shawnee, KS; 11 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren; 1 great, great granddaughter; 5 step grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
