Obituary for Michael James Price

Michael “Mike” James Price, 68, passed away August 21, 2016 at his home in Weston, MO. Mike was born September 25, 1947 in St. Louis, MO to William Franklin Price and Mary Virginia Smith. Mike enlisted on October 24, 1967 and spent 20 years serving his country in the United States Air Force. He was proud to have served overseas in Thailand during the Vietnam War, then in Guam. He retired as a Master Sergeant on October 31, 1987. He obtained his Associates degree and then worked for the TSA. He suffered sudden cardiac death on May 5, 2007 which resulted in an anoxic brain injury. After a long road, he regained most of his usual self, including his GI vocabulary, and we were blessed with nine more years with Mike. He especially loved his granddaughters (of whom he was especially proud), coffee, and animals. He always maintained his sense of humor and requested a Viking funeral, complete with beer and elephants. Mike was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Jack. He is survived by his former wife, Claudette Jones Price, and their four daughters; Meghan (Brent Adams), Heather, Kerry, and Breanna, six granddaughters; Alina, Kiley, Claire, Raigan, Sarah, and Gwendolyn, and his siblings; Larry Price (Susan), Jerry Price (Keiko), and Susan White. A memorial service will be held at 2pm Saturday, September 3, 2016 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 98 Main St, Farley, MO 64028.In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to St. John’s Lutheran Church, 98 Main St, Farley, MO 64028.
