Nancy E. Purvis, 67, passed away Friday, April 22, 2016, at her son’s home in Platte City, MO. A visitation will be held on Monday, April 25, 2016 from 2-3pm at Rollins Funeral Home, Platte City, MO, followed by a graveside service and Interment at 3pm in the Platte City Cemetery. Memorial contribution can be made to the University of Kansas Cancer Research Center. Nancy was born March 3, 1949 in Atlanta, GA to Charles Woodard Browning and Margaret Virginia (Brown) Browning. She was the daughter of a Southern Presbyterian Minister who preached at several church throughout the south, but she lived most of her life in Nelsonville, OH but also lived in Florida, California and Louisiana as she followed her husband while he served in the military. She married LeRoy Waters Purvis on May 28, 1966 in Vansant, VA and was blessed with a marriage of almost 50 years. She was a member of the Shalimar Presbyterian church in Shalimar FL. She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren and taught them all how to fish. Nancy was preceded in death by her parents.
