Obituary for Norma Jane Singleton

Norma Jane Singleton formerly of Weston, MO passed away Wednesday, November 8, 2017 at Country Care of Easton, KS. She was 90 years old. Norma was born January 11, 1927 in Rushville, MO, the daughter of James & Ella Turnbull. She married Marshall E. Singleton on August 6, 1950. In December 1959 they adopted a daughter they named Sherri Lynn. Norma served God and all others in her life. She was a member of the Weston First Baptist Church. She retired from the West Platte School District where she worked many years. Norma was an excellent quilter, seamstress and baker. She enjoyed baking wedding cakes & birthday cakes for many people in Weston, Leavenworth and Platte County. She is preceded in death by her husband Marshall, her parents, and 3 brothers: Clarence, Raymond, & Harold Turnbull. She is survived by her daughter Sherri, son in law Kevin Didde of Easton, KS, 1 grandson, Matthew Didde of Leavenworth, (who was her pride and joy and best buddy always), and several nieces & nephews. A visitation will be held 1:00 – 3:00 p.m., Sunday, November 12, at Vaughn Funeral Home in Weston. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, November 13, at the funeral home. Interment will follow at the Pleasant Ridge Cemetery in Weston. Memorial contributions can be given to: Alzheimer’s Association—3599 Rainbow Blvd.—K.C., KS. Sherri would like to give special thanks to all the caring staff at Easton Country Care for taking care of her mother.
