Obituary for Willadeen D. Williamson

Willadeen D. Williamson, 91, passed away Sunday, March 19, 2017 at Mosaic Life of St. Joseph, MO. Willadeen was born May 9, 1925 in East Leavenworth, MO to Charles Elmer and Elma Frances (Thies) Cannon. She was a graduate of the Farley Elementary and Platte City High Schools, and a lifelong member of the First Christian Church of Platte City. Willadeen married Howard James Williamson on May 27, 1959 in Farley, MO. She was a homemaker at heart, and enjoyed keeping her home in order. Willadeen also was previously employed with Hallmark and the Corner Drug Store in Leavenworth, KS. In later years, Willadeen enjoyed sheep collectibles, working on word puzzles; and she loved to sing. She was preceded in death by: her parents; her husband Howard James; and her brother Gareth Cannon. Willadeen is survived by: her daughter Lynette (Raymond) N.) Johnston of Platte City; her brother Lowell Gene Cannon of Leavenworth; nieces Paulette Whitmer, Deb Polacek, and Denise Cannon; and her nephew Jay Cannon. A visitation will be held 10:00 – 11:00 a.m., Thursday, March 23, 2017 at Rollins Funeral home in Platte City; followed by an 11:15 a.m. graveside service at Green Cemetery in Farley, MO. The family suggests contributions be given to the First Christian Church of Platte City.
