Ruth Maxine (Taulbee) Collison, 89, formerly of Weston, MO passed away Friday, March 17, 2017 at Shawnee Mission Health Center, Shawnee Mission, KS. Maxine was born May 8, 1927 in Weston, MO to Elijah Tipton and Lida B. (Nichols) Taulbee. She was a lifelong resident of the Weston area, before moving to Overland Park, KS in the last 7 years. She married Joseph Hickman Collison on May 17, 1962 at the First Baptist Church of Weston; spending much of her time helping Joe with various Masonic Lodge and Shriner activities. Maxine worked as a bookkeeper for the Dr. R.J. Felling Medical Clinic in Weston for 30 years. She was preceded in death by: her parents; her husband Joe; 2 sisters Lucille Berry Lewis and Lida “Tiny” Mozola; and 3 brothers Roger, Raymond, and William Taulbee. Maxine is survived by: her step daughters Lynn Collison of Weston, Joby (Bill) McGowan of Prairie Village, KS, and Jana (Bob) Johnson of Leewood, KS; 7 grandchildren; and 3 great grandchildren. Following cremation, a graveside memorial service will take place 2:00 p.m., Thursday, March 23, 2017 at Mount Bethel Cemetery in Weston.
