Brett Hollandsworth, 13, passed away Saturday, December 21, 2019 at his home in Platte City, MO. Brett was born September 7, 2006 in North K.C., MO to Brian Scott and Sheree Christine (McCoy) Hollandsworth. He was a 7th grade member of the Platte City Middle School. Brett enjoyed attending vacation bible school at the United Methodist Church in Platte Woods, with his grandmother. He was a music lover, and enjoyed mixing music, playing video games, and playing baritone in the Platte City Middle School band. Brett liked squirrel hunting and operating/playing with heavy equipment. He also stayed active through weightlifting, running cross country, and playing soccer. He was preceded in death by a sister Aleah Hollandsworth; a great grandfather Don McCoy; a great grandmother Mary Baldwin; and a grandfather Bruce Hollandsworth. Brett is survived by his mother Sheree (Greg) Kruske of Platte City; his father Brian (Liz Murphy) Hollandsworth of Agency, MO; a half-brother Ethan (Laura Butler) Knyzewski of Rogers, AR; half-sister Katherine (Nolan Brooks) Knyzewski of Platte City; sisters Faith and Carlie Hollandsworth of Platte City; step-brothers Brock and Kyle Kruske, of Liberty; grandmother Linda Hollandsworth of Platte City; uncle Brice Hollandsworth of St. Joseph, MO; Grandparents Steve and Chris McCoy of Rogers, AR; uncle Matt (Ashley) McCoy of Rogers; great grandmother Donna McCoy of Hastings, NE; nephew Lincoln Knyzewski; and numerous friends and extended family. A visitation will be held 12:00 – 2:00 p.m., Friday, December 27, 2019 at Rollins Funeral Home in Platte City; followed by a 2:00 p.m. funeral service. Interment will follow at the Platte City Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be given to the Epilepsy Foundation.
