James Garland Turnbo, 68, passed away Tuesday, September 29, 2020 at Pleasant Valley Manor in Pleasant Valley, MO. James was born on July 15, 1952 in El Paso, TX to Garland and Margaret Ruth (Wilemon) Turnbo. He graduated from Armijo High School in Fairfield, CA, before proudly serving in the United States Marine Corps for six years. He worked for a time as both a mail carrier and a welder making baseball equipment, before health issues kept him at home. He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother Charles Thomas Turnbo. James is survived by his son, Tom and daughter, Erin, his sister Sparky Turnbo Willemsen and her husband Craig Willemsen of Weatherby Lake, MO. Following cremation, a private inurnment will be held at Leavenworth National Cemetery in Leavenworth, KS. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be given to the Global Orphan Project in Kansas City.
