Nancy Hope Chitty, 77, of Weston, MO, passed away Thursday, November 19, 2020 at the North Care Hospice House in North Kansas City, MO. Nancy was born on July 7, 1943 to Milton Hope and Almeda (Moore) Wright. She attended school in Weston before going to Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville, MO. She taught college in Prescott, IA, and later worked as an auditor on Ft. Leavenworth in Leavenworth, KS. After retiring, she worked part-time at the Mid Continent Public Libraries. Nancy married Edward Neal Chitty, and they lived in St. Joseph, MO, where their son Jeff was born, before moving back to Weston. She was a fan of Western movies and Cowboy music, and would travel great distances to see her favorite band, Riders in the Sky. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter-in-law Kristin Stockstill-Chitty; and cousin Eddie Wright. Nancy is survived by her son, Jeff Chitty of Kansas City, MO; and cousin Joyce Wright, of Weston, MO. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, November 24, 2020 at 2 pm at Pleasant Ridge Cemetery, Weston, MO. Masks and social distancing will be required.
