Karen Lynn “Carey” Weatherly, 62, of Platte City, MO, passed away Saturday, March 20, 2021. Carey was born on October 6, 1958 in Mountain Grove, MO to Jackie R. and Frances Dee (Brown) Weatherly. They graduated from Mountain Grove High School before serving in both the U.S. Army and U.S. Navy, and later working for many years as an over the road truck driver. Carey married Rita Kay Albertson on April 5, 1999 in Kansas City, MO. Together, they enjoyed travelling all over on their motorcycles, collecting memorabilia and meeting all variety of new friends. Carey would often say that “motorcycles saved my life.” They were preceded in death by their parents and grandparents. Carey is survived by wife, Rita; daughter Tamara Lynn; 1 brother; 1 sister; and many friends. Following cremation, Carey will be inurned at Leavenworth National Cemetery in Leavenworth, KS. Memorial contributions can be given to the Wounded Warrior Project.
