Obituary for Sharon Bernice Whitt (Scott)

Sharon B. Whitt, 74, of Weston, MO, passed away Monday, March 29, 2021 at North Care Hospice House in North Kansas City, MO. Sharon was born September 14, 1946 in Leavenworth, KS to Richard Wilbur and Bernice Evelyn (Lamar) Scott. She grew up in Camden Point, MO, and graduated from North Platte High School in 1964. She enjoyed riding horses, and with her father rode for the Saddle Club in multiple American Royal parades. Sharon married Larry Olin Whitt on April 4, 1966 at the Weston Christian Church. She worked many places over the years; as a pharmacy tech at the Weston Pharmacy and Miller Pharmacy in Platte City, a secretary at Fort Leavenworth, and at the Weston Burley House during tobacco season. But most of all, she was dedicated to her family. She loved going to sporting events, the Weston Community Theatre, and just spending time with her grandchildren. Sharon loved to cook for everyone and enjoyed crafting, especially for the holidays. She played bridge, was a member of the Weston Jaycees, and always looked forward to her next travel adventure. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and brother Richard Dean Scott. Sharon is survived by her children Shelly (Jeff) Caudron of Wheaton, MO, and Steven (Stefanie) Whitt of Weston; grandchildren Jon Caudron, Lamour and Ty Shirley, and Samantha and Scott Whitt; great granddaughter Cambria Shirley; and numerous extended family and friends. A graveside funeral service will be held Saturday, April 3, 2021 at 11 am at the Pleasant Ridge Cemetery in Weston. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be given to the Weston Community Theatre.
