Obituary for Jon Manley Athanasius Rydholm
Jon Manley Athanasius Rydholm, born September 19, 1948, beloved husband of Kathleen Ramirez, cherished father of John Michel Rydholm & Dyan Matteson, loving grandfather of Jon Merton, Eleanor Josephine, and Francis Xavier, passed away Wednesday, April 21, 2021, following a long struggle with cancer.
Jon and Kathleen were married for 44 years. After converting to the Catholic faith, Jon developed a strong devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary. He was a member of the Holy Name Society and served in the US Army during the Vietnam Conflict.
Despite learning of his terminal diagnosis, Jon was able to survive long enough to see the birth of his three grandchildren and his eldest grandson’s First Holy Communion. Jon also survived colon cancer in 2007.
Jon was preceded in death by his parents, Fred W. Rydholm & Dorothy J. Wolcott; and sister Penny & Charles John Corey.
Jon’s family members include his brother, Charles & Vicky Rydholm; and his sister Jeanne & the late Steve Garfield.
Kathleen’s family members include siblings Richard Ramirez, David & Wendy Ramirez, Maria & James Wagner, Dolores & Chris Zappella, and the late Maria Anne Sutton. Jon is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
