Richard A. Reedy, 72, of Platte City, MO, passed away Tuesday, May 17, 2022 at the Kansas City Hospice House in K.C., MO. Rick was born January 8, 1950 in Fremont, Ohio to George Alfred and Ellen May (Constantine) Reedy. He was raised in the Green Springs, OH area; and was a 1968 graduate of the Green Springs High School. Afterwards, Rick graduated from the Heidelberg College in Tiffin, OH; and then studied law at Toledo University. Afterwards, he passed the Ohio Bar Exams and worked for the next few years in Fremont, OH; before moving to Houston, Texas, where he worked for a title company. He later worked for several title companies in the Kansas City area. Rick married Janet Kay Grogan on April 29, 2000 in Kansas City, MO. He was a faithful member of the United Methodist Church of Platte City. Rick also was an avid collector of books, including comic books and their associated memorabilia. He also enjoyed listening to blues and rock music; and loved K.C. Bar-B-Que; all of which made him glad to be in the Kansas City area. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Jan in 2010. Rick is survived by his daughter Staci (Dane) Hubbard; his brothers Dennis (Tammy) Reedy, and George (Mary) Reedy; and his sister Cindy (Mike Skomrock) Reedy; 2 grandchildren Rhianna, and Daimon; and several nieces and nephews. A visitation will be held 10:00 – 11:00 a.m., Saturday, May 21, 2022 at the United Methodist Church of Platte City; followed by an 11:00 a.m. funeral service. Cremation and inurnment will follow at a later date at the Green Springs Cemetery, Green Springs, OH. Memorial contributions can be given to the United Methodist Church of Platte City.
