Obituary for Marilyn Patricia Hollar (Bossert)

Marilyn Patricia Hollar, 70, of Raytown, MO, reunited with her loving husband, Donald, in death on July 9, 2022. Marilyn was born on August 8, 1951, in Kansas City, MO to Alfred J. and Phyllis (Cashen) Bossert, Jr. She was a graduate of Bishop Hogan High School in Kansas City and worked as a Legal Administrative Assistant for Lathrop Gage in Kansas City for 27 years. On December 13, 1980, she married Donald Bruce Hollar. Marilyn had a passion for sewing, crocheting, knitting, and most recently loom weaving. Her cross-stitch pictures, tablecloths, and blankets were admired by friends and family. She enjoyed music, especially classical. She was also known for her quick wit, and love of her three fur-babies, Rascal, Wylee and Pippy. She is survived by her three children, Laura L. Colstion, and husband Jasen, Camden Point, MO, Sarah J. Hollar, partner Michael, Kansas City, MO, Allen J. Hollar, wife Emily, Independence, MO; brothers Phillip J. Bossert, Honolulu, HI; William E. Bossert and wife Lois, Horn Lake, MS; Steven V. Bossert and wife Patricia, Shawnee, KS; one grandchild, Sydney, and six step-grandchildren, Auroara, Autumn, Abby, Dawson, Grace and Olivia. She is also preceded in death by her sister Joan C. Bossert. Services will be held on Tuesday, July 19, 2022 at St. Peter’s Parish (815 E Meyer Blvd, Kansas City, MO 64131) with a 10:00 a.m. visitation; followed by an 11:00 service.
