Judith Ann Schneider, 80, formerly of Platte City, MO, passed away Sunday, March 12, 2023 at the Legend at Rivendell Nursing Home in Oklahoma City, OK. Judith was born July 27, 1942, in Decatur, Illinois to James Corbett and Mabel Ruth (Lewis) Maupin. She was raised in Lee’s Summit, MO and was a 1960 graduate of the Lee’s Summit High School. Judith married Ronald Lee Schneider on May 5, 1963 in Lee’s Summit, and they lived in Hawaii, while Ronald served in the military. She then lived in the Kansas City area, before moving to Platte City, MO in 1970. Judith worked as an insurance agent for the Miller-Donnelli Insurance Agency in Platte City and was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church of Platte City. She enjoyed reading, baking cookies, and bowling. Judith was affectionately known as Mimi to her family. Judith was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Ronald; and her brother James Corbett Maupin, II. She is survived by her children Cynthia (Jeff) Kerns of Brillion, WI, Michelle (Tom) Hins of New Castle, OK, and Dan (Lori) Schneider of Platte City; 10 grandchildren Jessica (Aaron), Jacqueline (David), Jeffrey, Joelle, Josiah, Melissa (Christian), Melanie (Trevor), Taylor (Cailyn), Casey, Carston; 10 great grandchildren; and her sister Janet Corum of Texas. A visitation will be held 10:00 – 11:00 a.m., Thursday, March 16, 2023, at the First Baptist Church in Platte City; followed by an 11:00 a.m. funeral service at the church. Interment will follow at the Platte City Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be given to the Alzheimer’s Association.
