Obituary for Daniel Varga Sr.

Daniel Varga Sr., 79, of Weston, MO, passed away on April 06, 2023, at NorthCare Hospice House. Daniel Varga Sr. was born in Jersey City, New Jersey, to John and Anna Varga on February 8, 1944. He went to school in Jersey City. He married Roberta Ann Chidester at Offutt Air Force Base on December 07, 1963. He graduated from The University of Nebraska Omaha with an Associate’s in Electronic Engineering in 1973 and attended the Radio Engineering Institute of Omaha from 1966 - 1968. He worked as an Electronic Engineer for numerous companies, including Control Data, Dysan, Stolley Corp, Digital, SpeedFam, and a Traffic Signal & Lighting Tech with the Arizona Department of Transportation. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War and served in the Air Force from February 1962 to February 1968. In the Air Force, he was a Radio Relay Equipment Repair Man. He enjoyed working on tube radios, fishing, fostering dogs, and spending time with his children and grandchildren. Daniel is preceded in death by his parents, John and Anna Varga, and his infant son Dennis Allen Varga. Daniel is survived by his wife of 59 years, Roberta Ann Varga, children Daniel Jr. (Cindy) Varga, Scott (Michele) Varga, and Susan (Keith) Finn, brother Kenneth (Barbara) Varga, sister Rosemarie (John) Greenip, grandchildren Jerry, Brittany, Halley, and Patrick, step-grandchildren Liam and Sarah, great-grandchildren Sadie, Ellie and Huck and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews, and nieces. Visitation & Rosary will be 9:30 – 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, April 19, 2023 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Weston; followed by a 10:30 a.m. funeral with Fr. Steven C. Rogers officiating. Burial with military honors will follow at Leavenworth National Cemetery in Leavenworth, Kansas. Luncheon to follow interment at Holy Trinity Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Dogs by Debin.
