Patricia M. Neely, 87, passed away Sunday, March 1, 2015 at the NorthCare Hospice House in North Kansas City, MO. A visitation will be held 12:00 – 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 4, 2015 at Rollins Funeral Home in Platte City, MO; followed by a 1:00 p.m. funeral service, at the funeral home. Interment will follow at the Ridgely Cemetery, in Ridgely, MO. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be given to the Ridgely Cemetery. Patricia was born July 20, 1927 in Chillicothe, MO to Harold Neal and Edna Marie (Stapleton) Raney. She was raised in Chula, MO, where she was a graduate of the Chula High School. Patricia married Carl Chester Neely Jr. on August 8, 1946 in Leavenworth, KS; afterwards settling in Independence, MO, where they lived until 1954, when they moved to their farm in Edgerton, MO. Patricia was a devoted homemaker who loved spending time with her family. She took an active role in her children’s many school activities and functions; and she also enjoyed league bowling, in Gladstone, MO. She was preceded in death by her husband, and 2 brothers Neal H. Raney and John M. Raney. Patricia is survived by: her son James H. Neely, and his wife Camille Bushell of Schenectady, NY; her daughter Scarlott Dowd, and husband Patrick of Platte City; 2 grandchildren Maria Bushell-Neely, and Charles Dowd; and 1 great grandson Ayden Dowd.
